Professor Bailey is a specialist surgeon who operates on a variety of different conditions, specialising in the surgery of the oesophagus, stomach, gallbladder and gut.

The Professor is an acknowledged expert with an international reputation in the field of Laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery.

He has a special interest in groin hernias, and has performed more laparoscopic extra peritoneal hernia repairs than anyone else in the country.

He is an acknowledged expert in laparoscopically treating Achalasia of the Oesophagus and takes referrals from across the United Kingdom and abroad.

He is also very experienced with the laparoscopic surgical management of Oesophageal and Stomach Cancer and the investigation and treatment of Gut Dysfunction. He also regularly performs laparoscopic Adrenal surgery.

He has a large practice in the field of endoscopy.

Professor Bailey performs Minor Surgery as an outpatient, for conditions such as skin lesions and moles, in his Private Practice.
