Cereals Bread; crispbread; water biscuits; breakfast cereals (excluding those containing nuts); rice and pasta
Cheese Cottage cheese freely
Fish White fish: steamed, poached, baked or grilled without fat
Fruit Fresh, canned, dried, stewed or frozen
Meats Lean beef, lamb, veal, rabbit, ham and bacon: grilled, steamed or boiled
Milk Fresh skimmed milk, commercially prepared skimmed milk (up to one pint daily);
Low fat plain or fruit yogurt
Poultry Chicken; turkey (skin removed)
Potato Cooked without added fat or oil
Preserves Jam; honey; marmalade; syrup
Puddings Sorbet; Meringues; low fat yogurt; jelly; milk pudding (made with milk from allowance)
Seasonings All usual seasonings, bottled pickles and sauces made without fat
Marmite; bovril; stock cubes
