Ultrasound Scan

A scanning device that uses high-frequency sound waves, above the range of human hearing, which travel through the body and are reflected in different amounts by different tissues. The pattern of reflected waves produces an image which the radiologist can use to distinguish any abnormalities. It is especially good at seeing solid objects such as gallstones.

If you are at all unsure about what your operation means, please do contact Professor Bailey.
