Colonoscopy

An investigation, performed as a day case under sedation, which looks at the large bowel. Before the patient comes in for the investigation they are given a laxative to clear the bowel so that Professor Bailey is able to see clearly any abnormalities or problems. Any lesions or polyps found will either be removed or biopsied.
